A popular party game is the piñata. Pinatas are expensive, but they are so much fun, that many people don’t worry about the price. If you are looking for an inexpensive piñata for your next party, consider making one yourself. To make one, you will simply need something to use as the shape and this easy paper mache recipe.
Paper Mache Recipe
You will need:
Water
Flour
To make this, simply mix two parts of water with one part of flour. You can make as much or as little as you like, and this is a no-cook recipe, making it super easy. Mix these ingredients together until it is in the consistency of glue. Make sure it is not too runny, but make sure it is also not too thick.
The next step is to take newspapers and rip strips off. It doesn’t really matter what size the strips are, and they do not need to be uniform. To make the piñata, dip strips of newspapers into the paper mache paste and cover the object. Some people use a blown up balloon for the item, but you can use a box, or anything you would like. Completely cover the object with strips covered in paper mache.
When you are finished, let it dry completely. This may take one or two days. It is now ready to be painted. Paint it in any way you would like. Again, let the paint completely dry. It will now be ready to use as a piñata. Attach a string or rope to it, cut a small hole in it, fill it with candy and hang it up.
