Lately, my family and I have been playing a lot of card games and I have found that card games are really the perfect games for any age, any situation and any occasion.

Everyone owns card games. I know that during my investigation of card games in my home, I realized that I have about 10 different ones. Some I purchased for my daughters when they were young. Both of my kids have always loved games – especially card games. When they were two or three years old, I think we started playing Go Fish. As they grew up, it changed to games like Uno and War.

Currently, I have found that they are both enjoying the card game, Phase 10. The nice part is that I absolutely love this card game. It is really fun, challenging and is great for a child’s mind. Card games offer so many benefits to those playing them. I like to watch my nine year old daughter planning the phases in this particular game. I can almost see her mind churning to find the right cards so that she can win the round.

Another nice part about card games is that they are extremely versatile. They are ideal for couple’s nights. If we are planning a night to have friends or couples over, it is always nice to have a card game, or two, ready to be played. They are great ways to get a party going, and they are ideal for people to get to know each other, especially if there are guests at the party, that have never met. Find a game or two that you enjoy, and bring out the cards at your next party.
