Current Events Games

Try these or share your ideas

If your friends listen to podcasts like Stuff You Missed in History or NPR, they might appreciate a current events spin on their usual party games. This semester I'm leading a current events for teens and tweens in our co-op and I've decided to try out a few games to make it a little more interesting and fun. Try some of these at your next party!

Current Events Headbandz: Put a person in the news on each person's head and encourage the group to treat the person like that person until he or she guesses. Limit it to 3 guesses per person if you are strapped for time.

Current Events Charades: Write down a few current events to have people act out from the local news. Keep it age appropriate!

News Mad Libs: Pull a story right from the newspaper and scribble over the words (make a copy first!) to play some mad libs before revealing the actual words.

Have any cool ideas? I'd love to hear them in the chat below!
