The popularity of online everything, from shopping to social networking, has resulted in the death of small talk. People are on their phones instead of discussing the weather and pleasantries with neighbors or strangers, and while some may say that small talk isn't preferable to deep conversation, many would argue that it's better than constant screen addiction.
Enter the game Small Talk by Pale Room. It's a computer game that encourages you to "connect with others over the stories they tell you and the stories they tell themselves." With a variety of interesting-looking characters that appear to be simply drawn, the game encourages you to make small talk and have conversations with different people (and monsters).
What do you think of a game like this? Is small talk itself dead (or even still relevant)? Share your thoughts in the chat.
